A tastefully maintained, award winning property situated in the lush Bhadra coffee growing region of Karnataka, India – 13.21 North & 75.24 east with an elevation ranging from 23780–2698 Feet above mean sea level, with mean annual temperatures ranging from 13–36 degrees celsius, Kattinmane estate is second to none, receiving an annual rainfall of 90 to 124 inches while boasting a heritage of 100+ years as pioneers in the Indian plantation industry, primarily shade grown and processing one of the highest trading commodities in the world market – Coffee, since 1910.

Every D2C coffee brand pitches how they have the best coffee everywhere they go, we at Kattinmane simply say ‘Come visit our establishment , our passion and standards speaks for itself’ we hide away in the shadows much like the Bisons, Peacocks and Monkeys that co-exist together on our property in harmony much like our mixed crops like Peppercorns , Fruit trees , Coconut & Arecanut trees that thrive in harmony along with our meticulously nurtured robusta coffee bushes.

The high caffeine content and bold, bitter taste of Robusta beans have made it a more preferable choice for Instant coffee, and India is predominantly an instant coffee consumer. It’s also an ideal companion for milk-based espresso drinks like lattes and cappuccinos.

We at Kattinmane want to make India sip on its locally produced pure and rich coffee that is usually exported to European countries. We want to be the reason good coffee stays inside our borders and the aroma of freshly brewed robusta fills the homes even to the north of the coffee belt of our country which typically consider ‘Tea’ as their go to caffeinated beverage of choice.

We, the owners at Kattinmane are 4th generation passionate planters who follow age old tried and tested growing methods while also keeping up with the times by adopting new technologies and specialty driven processes involved in ensuring you sip the most characteristic cup of specialty robusta coffee.

We have adapted modern facilities like pulping, fermenting, washing under water, soaking before it is naturally sun dried on well laid out barbeque bricks to obtain optimum moisture level.

Shade grown eco-friendly Indian coffee plantations conjure images of lofty green mountains, enchanting rolling hills and meadows, multi hued flowering trees, forests of rosewood and sandalwood, pristine lakes and eternal springs oozing from mountain tops. Nestled amidst the pristine surroundings of Durgadabetta and Merthi Khan hills, Kattinmane eco-friendly shade grown Robusta coffee beans thrive across over 300 acres of mixed crops including arecanut, coconut, pepper and fruit trees.

Our plantation has adequate shade provided by the large jungle and silver oak trees. We have abundance of fresh water in the form of Lakes and perennial streams running through and along the boundary which is sufficient to irrigate the entire block four times over utilising our fully equipped motor powered pumphouse which hosts an array drip irrigation systems & HDPE underground main lines with outlets at every point on each road so water and micronutrients are efficiently provided without any wastage.

We have educated our skilled staff who we employ all year long where they stay for free in our ‘homestay styled cottages’ and collect fair wages to not break this Ecosystem between the Land and its fauna as we are merely the guardians of the estate , and it is our responsibility to make sure the biodiversity thrives for our future generations to come , and also that the coffee culture in India picks
